System of Evaluation

The college evaluate students' performance on the basis of following components
1. Formative assessment
2. Summative assessment.
The total marks for each course at the end of the term will be calculated by adding the marks of the following components:

1. Formative assessment

The goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used by instructors to improve their teaching and by students to improve their learning. More specifically, formative assessments:

  • Help students identify their strengths and weaknesses and target areas that need work
  • Help faculty recognize where students are struggling and address problems immediately

This formative assessment will be given by lecturer personally to the students. This will comprise 50% of the total assessment. This 50% will be added with the summative at the end of module evaluation.

Example of formative assessment:

a. Midterm examination
b. Group assignment/ Individual assignment
c. Tutorial
d. quiz
e. mini project.

Summative assessment

The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark.

Final Examination or Final Year Project

These examination are conducted by the College at the end of the term. This comprise 50% of the total course which will be added to the end of module assessment.
